Larry Waggoner – After 4 years as a planner/scheduler in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Japan and San Francisco, Larry began his business career with entry-level positions as a computer programmer and programming manager in high-tech and financial services companies. At the same time he earned degrees in mathematics and computer languages. In 1970 Larry struck out on his own as the Founder & Principle Consultant of Accra Corporation (Encino, CA). Eight years later he jumped back into the corporate fray, first as VP & General Manager, then as President & CEO of Apparel Management Systems (AMS, Los Angeles, CA), a global developer of software for the manufacture and importation of apparel. While at AMS Larry also earned two more degrees; one in Accounting and the other in Business Administration. In 1987 Larry returned to consulting as Founder & Principle Consultant of Waggoner & Associates (Los Angeles, CA). Like many consultants, Larry eventually went to work for one of his clients, Cybermedia (Santa Monica, CA), a start-up developer and distributor of shrink-wrap software, first as the Controller, then as the VP – Operations. In addition to managing the company’s day-to-day operations, as the company grew from 11 to 350 employees, Larry was part of the team for a PPO (VC’s) and an IPO that raised $37 million, including the financial reports associated with a NASDAQ listing. Larry then leveraged his start-up expertise at another high-tech, financial services company (GoInvest.com, Santa Monica, CA) until 2001, when he relocated to Albuquerque to found Advanced Business Planning. Larry’s title of “Senior Consultant” reflects over 35 years of business experience. From manufacturer planner/scheduler to CFO, COO and CEO of multi-million dollar corporations, from domestic to international businesses, and from high-tech to apparel industries, Larry brings broad and deep world class business experiences to each consulting project.

Laurance Johnston, PH.D. MBA
- Laurance holds a PH.D. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology, a Masters degree in Biochemistry, as well as a Bachelors degree in Chemistry. He is currently on the board of Directors for Paralyzed Veterans of America’s (PVA) Education Foundation.

As a Consulting Scientist for Paralyzed Veterans of America, Laurance has published 160+ articles in disability magazines & professional journals.  He has researched and written extensive information about therapies that expand the disability-healing spectrum, ranging from alternative medicine to stem cells.  He has severed as a Scientific Database Director, for the Iceland Spinal Cord Injury Project: Funded by Icelandic officials to create comprehensive resource on spinal-cord-injury therapies as part of World-Health-Organization endorsed project.  Laurance has collaborated with international scientists to disseminate research findings (e.g., China, India, Portugal, Russia, etc), spoke at international conferences, and has developed international, bridge-building relationships/collaborations with scientists, politicians, & policymakers.

As a Director of Spinal Cord Research & Education Foundations, Laurance managed PVA’s multimillion-dollar grant program supporting spinal-cord research/education projects, developed disability projects and policies, and organized major conferences involving White House input and featuring celebrities (e.g., Christopher Reeve, Larry King, Katie Couric).

Perry Pedersen – After finishing his degree in pharmacy (1978) and beginning his education for an MBA, Perry began working for Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) as a pharmaceutical sales representative. Once the MBA was completed (1984) Perry accepted a position as Product Manager within the Mead Johnson Pharmaceutical Division of BMS, and then as a Marketing Manager within the Genetic Systems diagnostics division. Perry brings 25-plus years of pharmaceutical/biotech sales, marketing and business development experience to Advanced Business Planning.

Dawn Star – After a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwest Missouri State (major in Business Administration, minor in Economics), Dawn began her business career as an Accountant for one of the country’s highest-rated prep schools, Albuquerque Academy and enrolled in the University of New Mexico’s MBA program. Dawn then took her MBA (1975) to Sandia National Laboratories (Albuquerque, NM) as a staff member in the budgeting department, where she managed an annual budget of approximately $40 million, served as a DOE liaison to jointly assess the status of funding requests, and provided training seminars to technical managers in budgeting and financial reporting. In 1978 Dawn accepted a position with the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI, Golden, CO), first as a Senior Staff Budget Analyst, then as the Department Manager for Planning and Budgeting, then as a Department Manager for Financial and Manpower Analysis, and finally as the Department Manager in Accounting.  In 1991 Dawn leveraged her considerable business experiences, expertise and education to work as an independent consultant; as a tax advisor and preparer for close to 100 clients, and as a part-time consultant for Advanced Business Planning.
